What path to choose in sports ?

So , you want to start working out or to go in for sports , but you have to decide what to do first . This isn’t too difficult , if you have some sort of goal in terms of your body .

If you want to go in for some sports , that’s your choice and should be simply based on your preferences and interests , if you love football - start playing football , if you always wanted to try mountain climbing , go on courses and learn how it’s done , the same with other sports . That’s simple . But what if you want to workout and can’t choose what kind of training you want to do ?

In this case , there aren’t many choices left , but the choices may vary based on your gender . For guys it’s either losing fat or gaining muscle ( we don’t take strength training / cardio into account as you can combine those with each ways I mentioned above ) . You should look at yourself and your body objectively , and either lose fat and gain muscle afterwards or go straight into gaining muscle . You can gain muscle mass or lean muscle , and this depends on your final vision ( whether you want to stay lean while adding some muscle , or become much bigger and gain muscle while adding some fat ) . Of course you can combine strength training and cardio , bodyweight training and free weight training as long as you find the right balance and adjust your diet according to your goals .

In girls’ case the whole thing is slightly different . I’m a guy , and yet I can tell you for sure that girls mostly get into working out to lose fat , and if you’re a girl struggling from excess weight you should certainly work out to help you get rid of it . If you want to get good defined muscle you can combine that with losing excess body fat and making your body stronger at the same time . Some girls get into working out to gain a lot of muscle and mass , but in my personal opinion there’s a line and when women cross that line they become less feminine . At the same time I think weight training is amazing for women and I’ll tell you why , but in another post , as this one is already quite long .
