How Long Should A Workout Last?

Many people ask themselves how long a workout should last. Some say it should last up to 45 minutes, some say you can work out for 2+ hours. In this article I’ll discuss this question.
First of all I’ll tell you how long I usually work out. I usually train for 45-70 minutes, depending on the intensity and my workout program at that time. And I can tell you for sure that you most definitely don’t need to work out for 2+ hours unless you’re a professional athlete.

If you train 2 muscles a day ( you should train no more than that when you reach a certain point, I’ll cover that in another article) and do 4-5 exercises for each muscle your workout should take no more than 80 minutes, but sometimes it takes more, right? You know why? It’s because you rest too much/ get distracted. If you rest for around a minute between sets, do 4 sets in each exercise you should be done in 80 minutes maximum, so try to use your time more efficiently. If you do cardio too, try to do it really intensively. If both do cardio and train 2 muscles the time you spend on both may add up to a really long amount, and it can really take you 2+ hours to do all this. That's why I recommend doing what you need to do and not trying to manage to do everything possible in one session. Try to make a plan and spread muscle groups and different work outs to several days of the week. For example "
Monday - biceps,shoulders. Wednesday - abs,legs, Friday - Chest, Triceps"etc.
To sum it all up, keep your workout time up to 70-80 minutes max, spread your workout routine to several days, don’t overtrain and work out efficiently!
As always,
