My Opinion About Bodyweight Training

Everyone knows about the most basic bodyweight exercise – push-ups, but not everyone knows that there are a lot more bodyweight exercises that they think.
I really like bodyweight training, but still mostly train with free weights. Why? Because I think that additional weights make you progress a lot faster and can give you more profit in the long term than bodyweight training. Now I’ll explain why.
Bodyweight exercises are amazing when you’re starting, you can build a routine consisting of such a variety of exercises that it’ll be really enjoyable for you to work out and you’ll start getting into it really fast, especially when you start getting progress (and progress will come quite fast if you’re a starter and work really hard as soon as you begin). Anyway, as you progress, there will be a moment when you’ve reached the strength and body that allows you to do the bodyweight exercises easily, and your progress will become a lot slower, unless you add additional weight.

This is where the interesting part starts, you can put some weights into a backpack, put it on and start doing different kinds of push-ups, or tie weights to your body and start doing pull-ups (which I think is one of the best bodyweight exercises ever), and you will continue progressing. And of course if you train with free weights your progress depends on the consistency of your workouts (and your genetics, diet and sleep), so you can keep adding weights and progressing. So what am I trying to say here?
What I’m trying to say is, you should only train with your bodyweight at the start, then start adding weights as you progress no matter if you do street workout, push-ups at home or train at the gym with free weights, this will both help you progress fast and make sure you can keep improving as much as you want and don’t limit yourself.
