How Much Should You Sleep?

At some point of their lives, most people ask themselves how long they should sleep each night. The thing is, there isn’t a right answer for everyone, because it’s really based on the individual.
Most people should get around 6-8 hours of sleep for their organisms to operate normally, but it doesn’t mean you should too. There are people who need 8+ hours to feel good, but others can sleep for less than 6 hours and feel great. Not fair, right? I know, but what is the number of hours a person should sleep determined by?
The number of hours you should sleep is based on your genetics, diet, physical activity level and sleeping habits. Naturally, athletic people that spend hours in the gym/ outside working out may need more sleep than if they didn’t do any of that. But that’s a good thing, as exercise helps you feel tired earlier and sleep better afterwards ( little Bodybeast tip ).

You need to determine how much sleep you’re comfortable with, so that you adjust your sleep according to it. If you sleep for 6 hours for a week and feel tired all the time, try sleeping for 7-8 hours. By this I don’t mean that if you’re comfortable sleeping 6 hours you needn’t sleep more. Naturally, if you manage to get 8 hours of sleep, good for you. But if you’re super busy and feel comfortable sleeping for 6, than it’s fine to sleep for that amount of time.
Just experiment, find what works for you, but still try to sleep for a good amount of time. Too much sleep can be bad though ( 10+ hours is too much for most people ).
Anyways, thanks for reading my article, it’s always great to put out some of my knowledge and maybe help some Bodybeasters out there seeking for information.
