Do Carbs Make You Fat ?

Some people say that carbs make you fat, but let’s discuss this objectively, as it’s not all that black and white. So do carbs really make you fat ?
The answer is both yes and no, as just carbs can’t make you fat, it’s the calories they contain, and usually high carb products contain a lot of calories ( of course it depends on the product ). We all know that going above your daily calorie norm makes you gain weight, and depending on your diet and workout routine you will gain either muscle or fat, so carbs don’t really have anything to do with it. But most of the high calorie foods like fast food or sweets and candies contain a lot of carbs and maybe that’s why people tend to think that carbs make you fat.

Carbs are the source of your energy, and if you eat a lot of carbs and go beyond your energy needs, you will obviously gain some fat. If you eat enough carbs to satisfy your energy needs there’s nothing to worry about. So if you workout a lot and lead a very active lifestyle, you will naturally need more carbs to feel energetic.
Alongside everything I’ve said, there are both “good and bad” carbs. The “good” carbs are contained in products like rice, and the bad ones are in sweets, candies and fast food.
To sum it all up, I’ll say that carbs don’t make you fat unless you eat more than you need and the carbs you consume you get from sweets, otherwise, healthy carbs contained in good products won’t harm you if you know your limits.
